About me

I have a degree in French and German and, after graduating, went on to qualify as a chartered accountant.

I spent the first few years of my post-qualification career in the investment industry. As part of my duties, I was responsible for the publication of interim and final reports and accounts, listing documents and brochures for various quoted clients. After a short break to raise my family, I established an editing business in 1999 and proofread/copyedited numerous study manuals and textbooks on many subjects including business management, organisation theory, behaviour and strategy, ethics, corporate governance, financial reporting, law, economics, auditing, bookkeeping and financial management.

In 2002 I was asked to join the board of an investment business on a part-time basis. However, the role took up a considerable amount of my time and so, in early 2003, I reluctantly closed my editing business because I could no longer continue to offer my clients the service they deserved.

In 2012 I re-established my editing business under its current name and now provide a much wider range of proofreading and copyediting services to both publishing and non-publishing clients. In a typical month I will copyedit two or three books on a vast range of subjects from accounting and financial reporting to European history and politics to food crises and environmental/climate change for my publishing clients. I will also proofread numerous fund factsheets, presentation slide decks, investment reports and quality control/regulatory reports for my non-publishing clients.

I am a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
